Panel Discussions Session 2: Education
Globalization of EducationTime: 3:40 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Location: Utopia Ballroom Global supply chains have been established for most product and service industries. However, for the most part education has remained a local phenomenon with most universities in the developed world attracting the bright and talented students from the emerging markets. This has resulted in a “brain drain” from the less advanced countries like India to the more advanced countries like the United States. Liberalization of the Indian economy and technological advances has prompted many professionals who migrated to the developed world to return to their home country. In India, such entrepreneurs have established successful businesses which have fueled economic growth in India. This panel will examine the contribution of entrepreneurs in making the PanIIT vision of providing accessible, affordable quality education that prepares the youth for greater roles in the global economy.
