Dr. Raghavan (Ram) Ramanan is a Fellow and Director at ICF International. He is a Fulbright Fellow and serves on the Board of Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA). He has over 35 years experience in pollution control technologies and regulations. Ram is an ExxonMobil retiree, where he has developed and implemented environmental strategies and programs, and advised new ventures and operational personnel on complex issues across several sectors for over 16 years. Post retirement, prior to joining ICF, Ram served as president of T3, a division of Trinity Consultants. Ram has extensive experience with diverse cultures, having managed several environmental projects in over a dozen nations in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. He has also actively participated in environmental standards development at the state and federal levels in the United States, at the national level in India and Nigeria, and at the global level at the World Bank.
Listed in the International Register of Professional Engineers, Dr. Ramanan is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (American Academy of Environmental Engineers), a Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and in India, a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist & Scientist in the UK, as well as a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers and the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (India), and an AWMA Qualified Environmental Professional. Ram got his BS from Indian Institute of Technology, and his PhD and MBA from the University of Texas.
